Description This Technician will be handling CAT5 and CAT6 low voltage cable, installing cable on mounted trusses/j-hooks/strut material to connect to servers within a data center. Working inside the plant, may need to work on elevated work surfaces - ladders, scissor lifts, overhead fall protection. Working on your feet for up to 10-12 hours within a working day based on project demands - roughly 50-60 hours per week. Very seldom expected to work weekend - on a case by case basis. - The Technician will install a work area outlet for floor (i.e. monument), modular furniture (i.e. surface mount box) and wall (i.e. box eliminator). Drop cable down a wall using fish tape or other method. Route cable through modular furniture. Perform pre-termination procedures: organize, form, dress cables and determine length, slack and label cables. Suspend and support cable correctly: Cable tray, J-hook, D-rings, Bridal rings, Trapeze. - The Technician will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. - Technician performs fire-stopping procedures on fire walls, install sleeves, and pull cable through sleeves and core penetration. - The Technician will terminate low-voltage devices. (CCTV, Alarms) - The Technician will fully complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). - The Technician adheres to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. Non-Technical Requirements The Technician must be able to work in an outdoor or indoor construction work environment. The Technician must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professionalism, and attitude. The Technician must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. Work schedule will be Mon - Thurs: 6am to 4:30pm. Tech's will need basic hand tools, but mainly telecom snips(scissors) for cutting wire. PPE will be provided. Each tech will need steel toe boots also. We will be jetting/blowing fiber as well ISP - Inside plant cabling - will consist of all internal cabling within each building. Copper(Cat6, access control wiring, and multi fiber cabling) Security - this will cover camera systems, access control and cabling for monitoring several electrical and control systems Infrastructure - this covers all build out and installations of racks, overhead ladder racks and cable trays Testing - this consists of testing of all the above cabling systems, along with documentation Experience Level Entry Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
