Summary:

The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) shall be the PM's alternate to act on his/her behalf in his/her absence for the Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS).


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist the Program Manager (PM) in the overall management and execution of the MFH and SOS programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program operations in the PM's absence.
  • Support the implementation of program objectives, policies, and performance standards to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Monitor the coordination and execution of Military Funeral Honors ceremonies, ensuring adherence to military protocols and standards.
  • Oversee Survivor Outreach Services activities, ensuring comprehensive support is provided to military families.
  • Assist in scheduling and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Support the development and enforcement of quality control measures to ensure contract compliance and program excellence.
  • Conduct regular reviews and inspections to verify adherence to program requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining compliance documentation, including after-action reports and program evaluations.
  • Provide direct supervision and guidance to program personnel as required.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with military customs, courtesies, and protocols, particularly those related to Military Funeral Honors.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks, resolve issues, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program management
  • Ability to pass a background check and favorable FBI fingerprint check
  • U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military service or experience working with military programs.
  • Knowledge of Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) best practices and objectives.
  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed teams and managing multi-faceted operations.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000.
