- General methods and practices used in a variety of building trades, such as carpentry, general construction, electric, plumbing, painting, and HVAC.

- Work with vendors and contractors.

- Hand tools and equipment used in a variety of building construction and maintenance trades; use and purpose of general maintenance tools and equipment.

- Computer skills related to data entry/retrieval, Microsoft and Computer Maintenance Management Software.

- Basic principles and practices of record keeping.

- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.

- Familiarity with RO water systems.

- Able to lift, push and pull 75 pounds.

- Bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist when installing, repairing, and servicing equipment; perform simple and power grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation; and lift or carry weight of 75 pounds or less.

- Maintain records related to work activities and work orders.

- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.

- Perform basic carpentry, painting and drywall repairs.

- Coordinate and oversee work of outside contractors when needed.

- Monitor all cold storage units using REES system during work and every other week nights and weekends.

- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications and manuals.

- Ability to climb ladders, stand and perform overhead work.

- Perform monthly inspections on safety showers, eyewash stations

- Perform monthly inspections on fire extinguishers.

- Collect biological waste and chemical waste and assist with waste removal via 3^rd party.

- Any combination of education and experience that will provide the ability to perform the work and provide the performance results as stated above. A typical way of obtaining the education and experience would be:

- Two years of experience in general building maintenance or in the maintenance and minor repair of building utilities and lab equipment.

- Attention to detail

- Effectively contribute collaboratively to a team effort

- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and writing
