HDR is seeking a Technology Market Sector Commissioning Lead whose focus will be on continuing to build and lead HDR's technology/media/telecommunication commissioning practice across North America. This position is an opportunity to join one of the strongest and most comprehensive technology and advanced manufacturing commissioning practices in the A/E/C industry. This individual must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to take ownership in seeking out, developing, and managing client accounts as well as overseeing subsequent program delivery. Critical to this role is a proven history and commitment to developing and nurturing strong relationships with multiple technology and advanced manufacturing clients. Although the geographic focus of this position will be the Eastern U.S. initially, client assignments throughout North America (and potentially globally) are likely. Comfort in building relationships and identifying potential projects will be essential for this position. This individual must also be able to build and lead HDR's commissioning delivery staff and office team members. The TMT Commissioning Lead will be expected to:
- Serve as a client manager for select key clients
- Serve as a project or program manager for major commissioning assignments
- Work with Market Sector Directors, business development professionals and local leadership to drive growth
- Develop strategies, capture plans and initiating/building relationships with key clients
- Possess and maintain knowledge of client needs and plans, tracking current and trending business environment in order to anticipate, track and capture contract assignments
- Track upcoming contracts/projects
- Work closely with the pursuit leadership team to develop winning strategies
- Participate in Annual Strategy/Planning activities, and lead efforts to develop strategies for the Industrial and Technology Market Sectors
- Monitor and track projects for successful execution of commercial, technical and financial aspects
- Work with HDR's leadership to continue to build and strengthen general contractor relationships
- Leverage all of HDR's services in this role with a focus on datacenter and advanced manufacturing facility projects, and also support developing business with other clients in tangential markets
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or related field
- Highly desired commissioning experience in datacenters, advanced manufacturing, and/or A/E/C industry
- Experience must include a significant Technology client portfolio
- Hands-on commissioning experience, particularly in mechanical or electrical systems
- Ability to work independently to drive the success of project teams
- Willingness to travel (25-40%)
- Proven track record of sales success
- Planning and budgeting experience
- Staff management, mentoring and general leadership skills
- Experience with driving successful project execution metrics with large clients
- Experience with negotiating commercial terms with clients and mitigation of risk exposure to consultant
- Local candidates are preferred
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
