POSITION SUMMARY -

The Benefit administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of group benefit programs in compliance with benefit laws, regulations and plan documents. The benefit administrator will have a thorough understanding of benefit procedures, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This is an onsite opportunity located at our corporate office in Fairport, NY.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, OR JOB DUTIES -




  • Confidently assist employees, retirees and beneficiaries regarding benefit issues to ensure timely, equitable and courteous resolution.
  • Utilize a high level of discretion and judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Provides guidance to local HR, location management, and employees as required to address employee benefit plan issues and promote plan utilization.
  • Responds to confidential benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollments, status changes, qualified life events.
  • Monitor and respond to employee inquiries through the benefits platform, providing solutions to enrollment and troubleshooting issues.
  • Responsible for regular quality review and weekly audits of payroll-related data and all benefit enrollments to provide benefit vendors and payroll with accurate eligibility and deduction information.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Performs necessary calculations relating to missed benefit payroll deductions.
  • Performs tasks related to completion of annual benefit plan audit and internal quarterly audits.
  • Manages new hire benefit enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, and QMCSO's
  • Oversees maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.
  • Compile, create and present ad hoc reports and data requests through proficient use of Microsoft Excel to provide analytical insight into program offerings and for internal purposes as requested.
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.

  • All other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary



QUALIFICATIONS -




  • Basic knowledge of federal and state benefit laws is required.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and manipulation of numeric data.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), specifically analytics and reporting (SAP, Benefitsolver)
  • Strong MS Office skills; including proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently and organize and prioritize work while managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and provide excellent customer service skills to all employees.



EXPERIENCE -

3 to 5 years of employee benefit administrative experience

Starting wage range based on skills, abilities and experience from $28.84 to $32.69 per hour.
