GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Handle domestic & international shipment activity and support other transportation functions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies. * Follow processes, work instructions, MSPs, and other written and/or verbal instructions. * Operate a powered forklift * Assure that shipments match packing documents and assist in resolving any discrepancies. * Assist with the packaging and paperwork of outbound goods. * Review "to be shipped" reports to prepare and process shipment of customer orders. * Maintain inventory of shipping and packing materials and supplies. * Prepare paperwork and arrange for shipment of domestic packages. * Prepare paperwork, arrange and execute shipments of goods domestically. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain a neat and orderly work area. * Assist all departments with their shipping/logistics issues. * Assist with crating, skidding, etc. of equipment for shipment with a thorough understanding of packing security needs * Responsible for the proper packaging and paperwork preparation for Hazardous Material Shipments. * Prepare air bills and arrange for shipment of overnight packages. * Ensure everything that leaves the facility is packed tightly & safely. * Prepare paperwork, arranges and execute shipments of small packages internationally. * May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with three years related experience or an associate's degree and one year related experience. BASIC SKILLS: * Proficient with Syteline * Ability to speak, read and write English. * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. * Ability to perform basic math functions. * Possesses basic computer skills * Ability to resolve basic and moderate problems. * Ability to clearly communicate with peers and supervisors. * Ability to operate a powered forklift * Ability to complete standard forms and spreadsheets compliant to quality procedures. * Well-organized and detail oriented. * Possesses well developed communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. * Ability to interact professionally with logistical suppliers.
