The successful candidate:

***Shift: M-F 7:00AM-3:30PM***

Under direct supervision of a physician working within a clinic admixture room, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of order verification, medication preparation, distribution, record keeping and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by another admixture technician, pharmacist, registered nurse, mid-level provider, or physician. This position reports directly to the Pharmacy Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Two years within the last five years in a comparable job classification with chemotherapy compounding experience.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Licensure: Current Arizona pharmacy technician license

Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)

Special Skills:

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Spreadsheets/Word-processing)
  • Mathematically able to calculate dosages
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and other pharmacy related technology including automated systems.
  • Clear understanding of technician-related pharmacy law.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong background in the admixing of sterile oncology preparations
