Description
Sigma Defense is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Planner with specialized knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) logistics operations and aerial target systems. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in managing, coordinating, and optimizing logistics support for complex defense systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aerial targets, and related technologies. The SME will work closely with various DoD entities, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective logistical support throughout the life cycle of programs, from planning and procurement to deployment and sustainment. Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in logistics management, with a specific focus on DoD operations and aerial target systems.
- 3+ years of experience working with aerial target systems or unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
- Strong knowledge of DoD logistics systems, processes, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with the logistics challenges associated with aerial target systems, UAVs, and other defense technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leaders, stakeholders, and military personnel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively address logistical challenges and improve efficiency.
- Proven ability to manage complex logistics projects and achieve program goals and timelines.
Personnel Clearance Level:
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):
- Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Coordinate procurement, storage, and distribution of mission-essential supplies, including aviation parts, fuel, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic audits to ensure accountability.
- Track and manage stock levels for aviation-related materials, ensuring availability for missions.
- Transportation & Distribution:
- Plan and coordinate air, land, and sea transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies to support military and aerial operations.
- Ensure compliance with DoD regulations for shipping hazardous materials and classified equipment.
- Manage loading, unloading, and staging of cargo for aerial missions, including weight distribution and flight safety considerations.
- Operational Planning & Coordination:
- Support mission planning by providing logistics solutions for aerial operations, including refueling, maintenance, and supply drops.
- Coordinate with military units, contractors, and government agencies to facilitate smooth logistics support.
- Develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions, ensuring mission readiness.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $101,000 annually.
