Job Description: We are seeking a Facilities Engineer intern for the Facilities Engineering department located in our Minot, ND office. This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed. The intern will be tasked with various engineering tasks per the responsibilities highlighted below to ensure smooth field construction execution per project scope of work and assist in keeping new and retrofit facilities' drawings updated and properly documented. Additionally, the intern will be assisting in implementation of a new asset management system. Responsibilities may include:
- Perform PID walkthrough during construction and report to engineering team and updating as needed.
- Generate as-built P&ID/PFD during commissioning phase.
- Shop visits during equipment construction.
- Shadowing construction foreman.
- On site inventory tracking and inspections.
- Help engineering team with troubleshooting/de-bottlenecking facilities issues and design updates per OOOO-B.
- Entering preventative maintenance and inspection work orders into computer maintenance management system.
Required Degree Background:
- Students pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Materials Engineering.
- Minimum of 3.0 grade point average.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- General knowledge and understanding of piping drawings, instrumentation drawings, and electrical drawings.
- Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals.
