DSG is seeking a Director of Strategic Pricing, who will be responsible for driving the strategic pricing vision, developing and executing pricing strategies, and ensuring optimal price positioning across DSG. This position will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to identify key pricing opportunities, optimize margins, and drive profitable growth. The Director of Strategic Pricing will lead the development of pricing models, implement best practices, provide insights that influence decision-making at both tactical and strategic levels, and lead a highly effective Pricing Team. A Typical Day in the Life of a Director of Strategic Pricing at DSG:

  • Improve margin by leading the pricing process and strategy for a multi-million-dollar organization that aligns with DSG's growth objectives, market dynamics, and customer segmentation.
  • Develop key pricing initiatives aligned with DSG's growth and profitability goals.
  • Build, manage, develop, and oversee the work of Pricing Team members.
  • Lead an effective pricing strategy within DSG that ensures pricing is a strategic differentiator and sales enabler.
  • Track market trends, research competitor pricing, monitors impact of pricing and discount practices and perform data-driven analyses to identify areas requiring pricing adjustments.
  • Manage consulting or third-party pricing provider relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and other departments to develop new pricing initiatives.
  • Ensure Pricing Team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders as to ensure effective and timely pricing strategy.
  • Establish and enforce pricing governance frameworks that ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to best practices and guidelines. Oversee the approval process for pricing changes, discounts, and special pricing arrangements.
  • Assist Costing Team, Supplier Program Managers and Segment Manager team in maintaining and enhancing both the Product Data Warehouse (PDW) and Eclipse product data base.
  • Collaborate with Sales to design, plan, and implement promotional campaigns.
  • Lead pricing integration process for DSG acquisitions.
  • Other job responsibilities as needed.

A Successful Director of Strategic Pricing Typically Has:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA Preferred
  • 10+ Years' experience providing pricing strategy and leadership; managing complex business situations; operations; product knowledge; finance
  • Strong business knowledge and experience, with the ability to provide reports and analysis of financial and operational position to forecast, develop and implement strategic plans within the context of the larger picture
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of management, financial analysis, project management, and personnel management
  • Skilled in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing implementing and communicating policies and procedures for a large organization; analyzing data, making sound recommendations, and adopting effective causes of action, working tactfully with all levels of the organization
  • Prior accountability for departmental/company P&L with demonstrated experience in profitability management
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
  • The abilities to adapt and multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving work environment while also driving toward clarity and solutions

  • Experience with Eclipse ERP and Pricing Plugins/Practices/Enhancements
