Responsibilities

Shift: Days

Schedule: 7:00AM - 3:30PM

The Primary responsibility of the Trash Tech is to remove trash, dirty linen, biohazardous materials, pharmacy waste and recycling from all areas of the hospital and place it in the properly designated locations. Performs any other Environmental Services related duties as needed by his/her direct supervisor and or management.



Essential Functions/Performance Expectations

  • Understands departmental organizational chart
  • Understands Departmental dress code
  • Knows proper hand washing techniques
  • Understanding of methods to prevent cross contamination
  • The wearing of appropriate PPE
  • Knowledge of proper use/disposal of gloves


Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull a wheeled cart of 650 pounds.
  • Ability to count and record inventory of terry/linen.
  • Must have excellent problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced health care environment


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  3. Must be able to read, understand and communicate effectively.
