With the goal of strengthening the Association's position in the medical community, and an emphasis on but not limited to, the implementation of early and accurate diagnosis and treatment, Vice President, Medical Affairs aims to translate research to clinical practice and gather feedback from clinical practice/health systems and individuals impacted by dementia on their needs for more effective implementation of risk reduction strategies, diagnosis, treatments, and /care models. Vice President, Medical Affairs will be actively deployed throughout Association partnerships in order to understand hurdles and ensure that the research division (with MED and Health Systems) is developing the most robust tools and resources for health systems, clinicians and payers, to make sure they are offering the most appropriate and safest access to patients. Vice President, Medical Affairs will also collaborate to ensure individuals can effectively communicate / advocate for themselves in their interactions with payers and health care providers. Vice President, Medical Affairs will contribute to efforts that promote volunteerism for clinical trials, with special attention to underserved communities and providing input on product development opportunities, particularly those focused on clinicians and treatment delivery such as guidelines and criteria for diagnosis.
