Job Description

To uphold the responsibility of maintaining the hotel's food and beverage systems in accord with the approved criteria established by the Omni Hotels and the hotel Food and Beverage/Purchasing Departments. Conducts a thorough, but prompt, inspection of every delivery to ascertain proper specification factors to determine acceptability. Should also be knowledgeable of all food and beverage stuffs to ensure that they meet the same high standards of quality upon receipt.



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

    Check all food and beverage shipments by comparing it with Daily Order Sheet and invoice to ensure that what we are receiving what was ordered (quantity, price, size, count, case pack and acceptable expiration date). Ensure that all items are package correctly to note any discrepancies in product.
  • Fill out an error correction when necessary to ensure proper credit for amount of discrepancy and notify Storeroom Supervisor immediately of shortage to arrange for a replacement.
  • If shipment is correct, date and sign driver's and hotel copies of invoice. If any discrepancies are noted, insure that driver's signature is by any adjustments. Insure to annotate on the copies of any discrepancies, breakages, etc. for proper credit and reconciliation of the invoice.
  • Once the shipment is received with an invoice, insure the items are recorded on a Purchase Order in Birch Street Systems for reconciliation and payment.
  • Submit daily a progress report to Purchasing for outstanding deliveries. Ensures that all items ordered are filled daily and shortfalls are noted to Purchasing. Complies with Omni Hotels core F&B standards on products procured to ensure that we meet/exceed the standards.
  • Assist in conducting End-Of-Month Physical Inventory with the Storeroom Supervisor to ensure all products are properly accounted for.
  • Assist with shipping & receiving operation.
  • Deliver goods as needed throughout resort property.
  • Assist with retail receiving.
  • Accept and perform all other duties assigned by the Procurement Director.

Hotel Specific Essential Functions:

  • Able to work flexible schedule, Monday through Sunday.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods, if necessary.
  • Able to communicate effectively and correctly with guest and associates.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Walk-in coolers, hand truck, lift-jack dolly.
  • Delivery vehicle.
  • Computer and printer, typewriter, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine,

File folders, filing cabinet, and facsimile machine.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel
  • Resort property
  • Exposure to extreme heat and cold
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals


Qualifications

  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers, both in person and by radio.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays and evenings.
  • Must be able to move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

*This position is a full-time, on-site position with no work from home flexibility.
