DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Information Technology Intern, you will have the opportunity to complete a comprehensive training program designed to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in this role. While actively participating in our training program, you will gain insight on how to:
- Perform administration functions on z/OS operating system and related software
- Analyze problems relative to the operation of z/OS based software
- Review and report on z/OS operating system performance
- Evaluate and assist in resolving application related performance problems
- Work with a variety of application related software products which includes debugging tools and application maintenance software
- Assist with RACF administration tasks using ISPF panels that come with the RACF software product and setup RACF batch jobs to coordinate changes with the RACF Administrator
- Provide support for the Information Management System (IMS) software that is used for enterprise data base management and data base communications
- Work on requests for MQSeries system including channel and queue modifications
- Modify Clists and ISPF Panels to meet agency specific requirements
- Maintain and configure mainframe printer definitions, create, and modify
- Checkout and verify software products after a maintenance upgrade or a new release of software has been installed
- Assist with troubleshooting any IBM mainframe zOS software related issue and document the resolution to better understand how the issue was resolved

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Internship, May 2025 to August 2025
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in college full-time (carrying 12 or more undergraduate credits, or 9 or more graduate credits).
- You must be in good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be majoring in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- IBM Mainframe course background
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
