Location: Remote (Work-from-Home)

Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm EST (one day 11:00am-8:00pm)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Collections Representative with 1 to 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections. The ideal candidate will work from home during day shifts, ensuring effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. This role is crucial in maintaining financial health and supporting our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle patient and insurance calls with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive experience.
• Provide accurate information regarding billing, insurance claims, and account statuses.
• Maintain detailed records of interactions and update the system accordingly.
• Follow up with patients and insurance companies to ensure timely resolution of outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers to relay billing information and ensure continuity of care.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures while handling sensitive financial information.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards during interactions.
• Assist in managing accounts receivables and payables.
• Provide support in patient education regarding billing and insurance processes.
• Collaborate with team members to improve collections processes and outcomes.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated with the latest billing protocols.
• Report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
• Strive to achieve individual and team targets for collections efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong understanding of medical billing, insurance claims, accounts payables, and receivables.
• Demonstrate empathy and patience while dealing with patients and insurance representatives.
• Proficiency in using healthcare management and billing software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and data security.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in medical billing and collections.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until February 14, 2025.

The hourly rate for this position is between $15.00 - 18.00 per hour, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
