The Senior Benefits Administrator, under the direction of the Director of People Services is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's comprehensive benefits programs for all US and Canada employees, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and more. This role combines mid to long-term planning with day-to-day administration to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective benefits that align with the company's vision, strategy, and values.



You'll make significant contributions in the following areas:



  • Oversee daily benefits processing, including enrollments, termination, claims, and compliance testing. Responsible for the employee benefits programs including all or part of the following: vacation, holidays, sick leave, medical/dental coverage, short and long-term disability, life and accidental death, 401K, supplemental retirement programs, savings programs, pension programs, unemployment, and leaves of absence, flexible spending accounts, and COBRA, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant federal and state regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and associated fees.
  • Reconciliation of benefit premiums with payroll and accounting/general ledger.
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment and reconciliation.
  • Analyse benefit costs, usage patterns, and market trends to forecast future needs and expenses.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures and policies for assigned benefit programs.
  • Provide exemplary customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefit package.
  • Responsible for development and administration of annual Open Enrollment activities.
  • Responsible for administering and development of Employee Wellness program and initiatives.
  • Manage administration of the Leave of Absence and Workers Compensation programs.
  • Audit and ensure accuracy in benefits. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Create and develop clear, engaging materials for benefits orientation and programs.

What you'll need.



  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or related role
  • In-depth knowledge of benefits plan designs and contract language
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Project management experience and ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations affecting employee benefits programs.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS professional designation preferred.
