The Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) is seeking an Assistant Director for the Narrative Medicine Program. Founded in 2016, this dynamic program offers curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular education, along with events throughout the year open to the entire health system. Additionally, the program offers 12-credit Graduate Certificate Program in Narrative Medicine for MD students.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Narrative Medicine, the Assistant Director will play a vital role in program management and operations, teaching and curriculum development, for the Narrative Medicine program. This position involves enhancing storytelling skills among medical and health professions students, collaborating with faculty and guest speakers to create engaging educational experiences and contributing to the strategic vision of the program. The Assistant Director will also mentor students and faculty, assist in faculty recruitment, promote narrative medicine initiatives, and support grant-seeking efforts.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of directly related experience. MA/MS, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in bioethics, narrative medicine, journalism, or a related field within the humanities or social sciences preferred. Required Skills & Abilities:
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, students, and external partners.
*Proven ability to manage and oversee program development, including strategic planning and administrative functions.
*Commitment to fostering mentorship and supporting writing and creative reflection among students, staff, and faculty.
*Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to committees and initiatives within the school.
*Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and teaching in medical education or related areas.
*Experience in scholarly evaluation and the dissemination of findings related to narrative medicine or health humanities.
*Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising efforts, with a track record of securing funding preferred.
