About the role:

Our R&D engineers are tasked with designing and developing implant products for the Cardiac Rhythm Management Diagnostics (CRMDx) group. This includes technologies that monitor, support diagnosis and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. CRMDx provides devices and therapies for a patient's entire continuum of care, from diagnostic to treatment. This division strives to innovate and create a paradigm shift that can solve unmet clinical needs and change what is possible for patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

The intern will own a project from start to completion over the course of the 12 week internship. The project will relate to the System-level work the team performs: characterizing interactions between the implantable device (pacemaker, defibrillator, or monitor), the external programmer (used to communicate with the device), and the environment in which they operate. The role will require both programming and electrical hardware experience.




  • Document, communicate and follow-up on software/equipment issues.
  • Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes
  • Develops and enhances cross-functional team relationships and works cross-functionally to identify and resolve technical and organizational issues.
  • Provide project estimates with assistance from senior/principal engineers.



Required Qualifications:



  • Must be a rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2025 - June 2027), graduating senior (May/June 2025 grad) continuing on to grad school, or current grad student
  • Currently majoring in Electrical Engineering with proficiency in software OR Software/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with coursework and work experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Must be able to commit to program dates May 19th - August 8th or May 27th - August 15th, 2025
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (Python, Java, C++).
  • Comfortable with hardware and debugging of it (no PCBA design/no layout)
  • Experience with test work, tools work, some automation
