Hensley Industries is seeking a strategic-minded and results-focused Purchasing Manager to join its dynamic Operations team in the Dallas, Texas headquarters. The ideal candidate should be ready to lead their team to support all aspects of our production facilities in Dallas, TX and Mansfield, TX.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for buying the best quality products, goods, and services at the most competitive prices. Oversee the acquisition of materials needed for production, general supplies for offices and facilities, equipment, and construction. Manages and negotiates company contracts and leases.
- Lead Hensley purchasing and receiving department.
- Control the purchase and supply of all procured items and services.
- Establish terms, pricing quality requirements, delivery, and contracts.
- Monitor commodities, business trends & product availability to ensure Hensley is getting the best price for goods or services
- Manage vendor files: setup, changes and approvals and vendor relationships
- Determine suppliers for MRO Purchase Orders.
- Determine suppliers for Raw Materials Purchase Orders.
- Establish and control Raw Material inventories
- Make recommendations and advising Staff on all purchasing issues.
- Assist Accounting with discrepancies and vendor management.
- Prepare and process requisitions, purchase orders and invoices.
- Manage Senior Buyer and MRO Buyer.
- Manage freight lanes and negotiate rates associated with procuring raw materials
- Manage company contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or higher (supply chain, business, or similar fields).
- 4+ years purchasing management experience.
- Purchasing experience in manufacturing environment (Foundry or Heavy Manufacturing preferred).
- Experience in supply contract review and negotiation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (writing and verbal)
- Strong understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Analytical skills, with the ability to conduct and report cost analysis.
- Strong cost negotiation skills.
- Ability to work well with employees and vendors at all levels.
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for improvements.
- Able to successfully manage multiple prioritized projects with a sense of drive and strong attention to detail
- Experience and/or familiarity with SAP S4 Hana (preferred).
- Strong proficiency with MS Office. Especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
