The Position
2025 Summer Intern - Translational Medicine - Clinical and Companion Diagnostics Development Department Summary The Clinical and Companion Diagnostics (CDx) group serves as a strategic partner on Pharma clinical trial subteams and develops the diagnostic testing strategy that will support drug development. As an example, diagnostic strategies can include identifying patients most likely to benefit from the drug or developing an assay for patient monitoring. In this role, the CDx Development Lead partners with biomarker scientists to select the assay technology and diagnostic partner, and must be able to clearly communicate the developed strategy to the diagnostic assay manufacturer. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on site. The Opportunity
The Clinical and Companion Diagnostics (CDx) Development Intern will contribute to the success of the CDx team by providing project management expertise and business management support to key strategic initiatives, managing essential cross-functional projects, as well as taking ongoing responsibility for certain key business processes. To be a thought-partner and advisor to CDx Development Leaders to ensure effective and timely completion of deliverables and to ensure the team achieves and maintains a high level of sustainable performance. Identify and potentially lead cross-functional business transformation and process improvement projects. Drive the planning, formation and execution of timelines, including goal setting, scheduling, facilitating and team building. Demonstrate creativity, independence, and initiative in resolving issues. Understand the strategic, big picture priorities while managing the detailed execution of deliverables.
Program Highlights
Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship. Program start dates are in May/June (Summer). A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects. Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Required majors:
Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics, Engineering, Physiology, Business, Bio-Medical, Regulatory Science or related fields.
Required skills:

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and team facilitation skills to collaborate with key stakeholders. Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously. Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $25.00 -$33.00 hour.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
