New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a Electrical - Mechanical Technician for a 3 month contract position with the potential for a contract extension or conversion.
Compensation: $56.00 per hour
Responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders associated with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on commercial electrical power, lighting and electrical utilities equipment and systems. This position also provides response and feedback to customer service requests for power and lighting issues while utilizing Automated Building Controls and electrical monitoring systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs a variety of electrical equipment, controls and systems to include, but not limited to the facility electrical power distribution and lighting infrastructure.
- Also performs service to pumps, fans, kitchen equipment, dishwashers, a variety of plumbing fixtures and other mechanical equipment as necessary.
- Utilizes the building automation system to track building conditions and the operation of facilities equipment.
- Assists lower level technicians with work assignments and coaches as appropriate.
- Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.
- Performs preventive maintenance on Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical, and related control systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Utilizes strong computer skills to complete and document work as well as communicate with customers and the Client.
- Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
- Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.
- Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
- Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
- Provides adequate response to a variety of facility issues to include plumbing, electrical, roofing and other carpentry emergencies.
- Must have availability to respond to after-hours emergencies on-site only as needed.
- Must have ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED.
- Basic electrical safety or Qualified Electrical Worker training.
- Certification: Electrical Journeyman's License - State of Massachusetts
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with maintenance & repair of commercial Electrical systems.
