In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure facilities and provides effective community supervision in support of successful reentry. Job Overview: The Correctional Program Director of Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily administrative and clinical operations of substance use treatment and recovery services across state prisons. This role ensures compliance with departmental policies, evidence-based program criteria, and the standards set by the American Correctional Association (ACA) for accreditation. Key duties include strategic planning, program development, contractor and departmental program monitoring, data collection and dissemination, technical assistance, and conducting annual reviews of addiction treatment services. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Licensure: Must be licensed as an alcohol and drug counselor (LADAC I, II, ICRC, NAADAC I, II, or possess a Master level NAADAC certification). Experience: A minimum of 've years of experience in substance use treatment and recovery services, with a strong background in program coordination, administration, and compliance. OR Consideration will be given to individuals with a mental health license (LPC, LCSW, LPE or psychologist) and at least 've years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders. Leadership: Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising and managing clinical and administrative staff.
