Genesis10 is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with project teams and Managers across all domains to support all aspects of the testing lifecycle and Automation
- Work side by side with development and business partners to determine optimal test coverage and ensure high quality and defect free software is delivered to our customers
- Accountable and responsible to ensure that test planning, test execution and defect management for a variety of projects across multiple lines of business and technology platforms are delivered and executed flawlessly
- Expected to be the subject matter expert for the business and technical components of an application
- Review testing artifacts and all required testing activities to ensure adherence to existing testing standards
- Expand knowledge of new applications, tools and processes to ensure successful execution
- Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan
- Develop, document and maintain Test Plans, functional test cases and other test artifacts including test data and automated scripts
- Execute and evaluate manual/automated test cases and report test results
- Hold and facilitate test plan and test case reviews with cross-functional team members
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
Requirements:
- 6-7+ years of experience in quality assurance, software testing and Automation
- An independent self-starter and requires very minimal direction and guidance
- Experience in reviewing functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding and delivery of testing project deliverables (ex., Test Plan, Test Cases)
- Experience in understanding and identifying test data needed for testing and writing quality positive and negative test cases
- Experience in hands on functional testing, systems integration testing, regression testing and E2E Testing
- Expertise in ETL (Autosys/Datastage) and DB testing
- Expertise with Webservices Testing using SOATest/IBM RIT/SOAPUI
- Ability to execute test cases in a timely manner, analyze test results, identify defects and experience in defect lifecycle
- Good knowledge of test management tools such as Client ALM/Quality Center/qTest/Octane and test automation tools such as SOATest, TOSCA, TOSCA Vital Checks, UFT
- Good communication skills and an ability to participate in defect triage calls to explain defects to development teams and escalate as necessary
- Experience testing mainframe, distributed and middleware (services) technologies and integrated applications
- Good understanding of the software development process
- ETL/Database testing
- Automation Testing
- Tosca Testsuite - Test Automation
Desired skills:
- ETL (Autosys/Datastage) Testing using TOSCA and Database Testing
- Web Services testing using any of the tools like IBM RIT, SOATest, SOAP UI, etc.
- Able to develop common solutions through Automation
- Able to identify risks and mitigation Comfortable working in matrix environment
- Experience in Financial Services, Marketing and other Customer impact
