Bruker Alicona, a subsidiary of Bruker, is seeking an Application Engineer for our team in Itasca, IL.

Responsibilities

* You will be immersed in problems from all over the world and all industries, from engine components to tools to medical implants, solving them together with a dynamic team and our customers.
* Your tasks will include close work with the R&D and Solutions Team to develop, deliver and implement state of the art solutions based on customer needs
* You will support our Sales team with your Expertise through Pre-Sales activities such as Demonstrations and Test Measurements.
* You will work with the most innovative optical 3D measurement systems, put them into operation and
* Train highly skilled experts from every industry



Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university with at least a minimum overall GPA of 2.8
* Knowledge and/or experience in the field of measurement technology, ideally in optical microscopy, measurement or laboratory technology in a sales environment is a plus
* A great interest in measurement technology and working in a sales environment
* A high level of customer service and technical problem solving
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Other Language skills may be required
* Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and customer service skills
* Solution-oriented thinking, working independently, high accuracy and a high degree of empathy for working in and with different cultures
* Willingness to travel (roughly 50% of your working time), with destinations 90% within USA for a maximum of one week at a time
* Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet and maintain a qualified driver's status. Motor vehicle record will be verified. Personal vehicle required
* Offer of employment with Alicona is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screen, subject to applicable laws and regulations. Background check must meet both Alicona and our customer requirements/expectations
* Able to work with power tools and ability to carry tools/parts from vehicle to work site. Able to lift 75 pounds frequently

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $61,200 and $110,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
