Cox Communications is hiring a Senior Accountant. This role involves developing, recommending, and implementing accounting practices at CCI in accordance with GAAP. The accountant will ensure financial and operating data accurately reflect the business's condition, translating key data points into actionable insights for decision-making. This position offers the opportunity to think strategically, drive change within the accounting function, and utilize technology and presentation skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an accurate general ledger in line with GAAP.
  • Conduct non-routine financial or operational analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with significant accounting processes and procedures.
  • Research and propose accounting treatments for non-routine transactions.
  • Create visualizations and present findings to leadership.
  • Explain variances to measures of record.
  • Develop business partnerships and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Lead or assist cross-functional teams in project completion.
  • Assist with policy updates and development.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 4+ years of experience. A candidate may also have a Master's degree with 2+ years of experience, or a Ph.D. with up to 1 year of experience A non-degreed candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, and other tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Tableau, Oracle, Essbase/SmartView/OneStream, SQL.
  • Experience working with an outsourced team.

USD 79,400.00 - 119,000.00 per year

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $79,400.00 - $119,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits:

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
