Note:

  • Experience with Electronics components inspection required.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and JSTD-001.



Job Description:

  • Primarily performs in process and final inspection of new and repaired sub-assemblies, assemblies, and electronic systems.
  • Using standard inspection devices and/or elementary testing equipment, and following prescribed inspection procedures, sets up, checks and visually inspects bench-assembled production components and subassemblies for conformance to predetermined electronic standards, specifications or tolerances in accordance with IPC-A-610 and JSTD-001.
  • Works from production schematics, drawings, shop orders, specifications, and blueprints and uses precision measuring instruments to check dimensional accuracy of products.
  • Does all type of electronic inspection, and some mechanical inspection, for Receiving, In-process, and Final Inspection.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Examines layout and installation of wiring, cables, subassemblies, hardware, and components to detect assembly errors.
  • Compares assembly with parts list to detect missing hardware.
  • Visually examines joints, wires and cables to locate soldering defects.
  • Examines alignment of parts and measures parts for conformance to specified dimensions.
  • Twists dials, knobs, shafts, and gears to verify freedom of movement.
  • Traces cables and harness assemblies, following cable wiring diagram, to verify routing of wires to specified connections and conformance of cable lacing and insulation to manufacturing standards.
  • Examines parts for surface defects such as chips, scratches, and pinholes.
  • Witnesses in process and acceptance testing of assemblies and systems.
  • Records inspection data such as serial number, type and percent of defects, and rework required.


Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 to 6 years related electronics inspection experience and some mechanical inspection experience required.
  • J-STD-001 Certification preferred.
