POSITION SUMMARY: The Anesthesia Technician, an essential member of the surgical team, assists the anesthesia team prior to, during, and following patient procedures in the Operating Room. There is patient contact while assisting in transport and procedures. Anesthesia technician works collaboratively and participates as the primary assistant to Anesthesia, nursing staff including but not limited to the Operating room, Endo, Labor & Delivery, PACU, EP, PV lab. JOB REQUIREMENTS All information relative to job or duties are transmitted to senior/supervising staff in a timely manner Reports potential impacts to patient safety to anesthesia staff, lead tech, circulating RN, OR nurse manager, or VP of Perioperative services. Remove and report all malfunctioning equipment to Lead technician. Technicians are accountable to anesthesia staff, residents, OR Manager, Charge RN and other supervising personnel to carry out tasks assigned within the framework of their duties. Communicate information in a timely manner. Highly organized with attention to detail needed. Capable of working independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptable, able to respond quickly to constant change High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate Anesthesia Technology preferred. BLS One year Anesthesia Tech experience in Operating Room preferred, or one year in Critical care / Step down unit as CNA preferred.
