As a Nurse Manager, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate care, mentoring staff, and maintaining high clinical standards. You will act as a key resource for the entire facility during your shift, overseeing nursing services, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with state regulations and hospital standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Nursing & Patient Care:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, report, and document patient behavior and medical status.
  • Administer medications and treatments following best practices.
  • Assist in responding to medical or behavioral crises in collaboration with the physician and nurse manager.

2. Infection Control:

  • Conduct monthly facility rounds to ensure infection control compliance.
  • Monitor hand hygiene for staff and patients.
  • Track and report infections while overseeing annual flu vaccinations.

3. Nurse Leadership & Management:

  • Oversee scheduling and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in hiring and onboarding new nurses.
  • Conduct random chart audits and monthly medication counts.
  • Foster a positive team culture by implementing morale-boosting initiatives.
  • Mentor and support new nurses, ensuring successful integration into the team.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in a state participating in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • CPR certification (or ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience in psychiatric or rehabilitation settings (preferred).
  • Leadership skills and a passion for mentoring and developing nursing teams.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
