7/1/2025 Application Window Open date: February 6, 2025 Next review date: Monday, Mar 10, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jun 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Associate Professor of Teaching, The University Writing Program (UWP) at the University of California, Riverside, is seeking applicants for an Associate Professor of Teaching, who will serve as Director of Computer Assisted Assessment and Instruction and Associate Director of the University Writing Program. Salary Range: Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2025 Position Description: The Director of Computer Assisted Assessment and Instruction participates in the administration and scoring of the UCR Analytical Writing Placement Examination. This person also helps lead the fall orientation and assists the Program Director with projects such as the grading handbook and program evaluation. Candidates with an advanced degree in instructional design or a related field and with a degree or demonstrated expertise in language acquisition with an emphasis in teaching English to multilingual students and English language learners will be given priority of consideration. Significant experience with the administration of writing assessment and placement exams is preferred. Experience in generative artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on writing instruction, with assistive technology or other technologies supporting accessibility or universal design, working with academic support programs, program assessment and evaluation, and facilitating instructor's use of learning management systems are all valuable assets for this position. Classroom teaching in addition to the assessment and administrative responsibilities: Other responsibilities include ongoing interaction with the other UWP Assistant and Associate directors, collaboration with Division of Undergraduate Education staff on student success initiatives, using data to inform practice, including the occasional exchange of one or more duties, as supervised by the Program Director.
