Regardless of role, we recognize that every member of our team is vital! The Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic vascular examinations in the vascular/ imaging laboratory. This role clearly presents summaries to vascular laboratory medical staff for final interpretation, reviews initial findings with vascular surgeons prior to final interpretation and documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established polices/procedures/guidelines. The person in this position correctly operates and optimizes use of all required vascular imaging equipment and adheres to established imaging service line workflows.

Vascular Technologist Overview

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs vascular imaging and testing in accordance with laboratory protocols, established patient care and safety procedures, in a timely and patient-focused manner
  • Coordinate patient as required to achieve quality diagnostic images according to department protocol
  • Accurately completes computer functions-edits, status changes, and logging
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new employees and assumes responsibilities for students when in the department
  • Initiates a service call when appropriate to ensure efficient department operation
  • Keeps current with technology and procedures Maintains certification
  • Maintains and develops competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of noninvasive vascular technology program, or graduate of a noninvasive vascular technology program requiring Bachelor Degree as prerequisite for admission if program is not accredited OR 5 years' experience as a registered vascular technologist with additional ultrasound credentials.
  • ARDMS certification in RVT, ARRT RT(S), RT(VS), or CCI RVS: Must be eligible to sit for boards and registered within 12 months of the hire date.
  • Minimum of 6 months (960 hours of clinical site scanning) as a Vascular Sonographer
  • Good digital literacy to operate in an electronic medical record environment
  • Team work skills

Hours: 1.0 FTE

Compensation:

37.89 - 54.94 USD Hourly
