Position Title: Student Worker - Esports Assistant

Dunwoody College of Technology is seeking a motivated and passionate student to assist the Esports Coordinator with the day-to-day operations of the Hawks Esports Program. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in esports management, broadcasting, community engagement, and social media strategies. The student worker will play a key role in overseeing the Hawks Nest Esports Arena, especially during evening matches, and will be integral in fostering a positive, vibrant esports community. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Esports Coordinator with daily operational tasks, ensuring smooth execution of esports-related activities.
- Oversee the Hawks Nest Esports Arena during evening matches, ensuring proper setup and technical readiness.
- Broadcast esports matches by managing live streams, providing commentary, and ensuring high production quality for viewers.
- Manage social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Instagram) by creating and posting content to promote events, matches, and team achievements.
- Monitor and manage the team's Discord server, including announcements, scheduling, and moderation to maintain a positive and engaged online community.
- Support general community management by engaging with students, answering questions, and promoting inclusivity within the esports program.
- Collaborate with the Esports Coordinator on special projects and initiatives related to the growth of the program.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to gaming PCs, broadcast equipment, and software within the Hawks Nest Esports Arena.
QUALIFICATIONS
Job Qualifications:
- Must be a current student at Dunwoody College of Technology.
- Passion for esports and gaming with knowledge of popular titles such as Call of Duty, Valorant, Rocket League, and League of Legends.
- Familiarity with broadcasting software (e.g., OBS, Streamlabs) and streaming platforms
(e.g., Twitch, YouTube). - Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and community engagement.
- Experience with Discord or other online communication platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
- Available to work evenings, particularly during esports matches and events.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time, evening hours required during matches and events. Flexible around academic schedules.
- 15-25 hours weekly based on work study eligibility.
