Overview

This Supervisor is accountable and responsible for the daily operations and all staff who are assigned under the PB Revenue Cycle Credit & Refunds department. This department will oversee insurance credit balances and allowance discrepancies for all Physician Practices under Carle Health. Supervising all operations of the department to ensure high quality and cost-effective performance in accordance with organizational goals and priorities. This position is responsible for knowing all the job functions under insurance credit & refunds and allowance discrepancies and must be able to perform the functions with high quality at any time. This position is accountable and responsible for the accounts receivable performance, maximizing cash, minimizing bad debt and preventing aging of receivables beyond the acceptable time frame. In collaboration with manager, is responsible for interviewing, hiring and terminating staff. Accountable for personnel related duties that include job performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, payroll reporting, productivity reporting, continuing education, overall job performance and enforcing required rules and regulations. Assists management to ensure established budgetary goals are met.

Education: Associate's Degree or Experience In Lieu of Education ,

Work Experience:

3 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle operations, preferably in the business office. Proficiency in designated platform(s) within the first 18 months.


Responsibilities

Maintains ongoing knowledge of all job functions performed in the areas being supervised as well as maintains a thorough working knowledge of all of the systems utilized to perform the work in the areas being supervised.

Monitors daily department flow, ensures appropriate staffing and optimal productivity and quality levels of the staff compared against pre-determined performance standards.

Creates and manages staff schedules, completes time card review and approval and manages paid leave requests from staff.

Recommends or initiates personnel actions for hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Initiates and in collaboration with manager, completes staff performance evaluations

Ensures staff members are adequately trained and are competent to perform all required job tasks.
Prepares and analyzes management summary reports and communicates findings to the appropriate parties including comprehensive end of month analysis on associated business lines.

Endorses and performs all required tasks associated with the Carle Experience such as, but not limited to, rounding, development of scouting and stoplight reports

Handles quality assurance/compliance matters as required and expected per policy and Code of Conduct; adheres to and enforces Carle Foundation Administrative and Departmental policies and procedures.

In collaboration with manager, conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff, facilitates and collaborates on initiatives within the department, enterprise wide, and with external entities. Also, assists employees in solving work related matters

In collaboration with manager provides input for annual budget for department.
Supports manager to interpret and analyze financial data to identify and monitor performance and establish financial benchmarks for the department.
Understands insurance contract build and how allowance discrepancies work in Epic.

Ensures outstanding accounts receivable performance by maximizing cash, minimizing bad debts and preventing aging of the portfolio beyond the acceptable time frame.

In collaboration with manager, provides input and follows annual budgets for fiscal year.
Acts as a resource and mentor to all staff.
Serves as the Carle Health subject matter expert related to insurance credit balances and the refund process.

Maintains appropriate internal controls, written policies and procedures and safeguards over revenue cycle activities

Collaborates with internal management teams in order to identify best practice and process flows within associated business lines

Partner with Accounting and Systems as necessary to ensure accurate tracking, capturing, and reporting of revenue for assigned portfolios.

Identifies, discusses, plans and implements (with assistance from Information Technology and Systems) the applications, systems or modifications which will enhance the enterprises revenue cycle systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $23.58per hour - $39.38per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
