Summary:

In this role, you will work with the West Coast Purchasing Coalition (WCPC), a group of health systems that have aggregated their purchasing to drive significant cost savings. You will manage a team and oversee all aspects of the supply chain sourcing process, including market opportunity identification, portfolio development, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management and network services. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive innovative cost-saving strategies and maintain compliance with contracting standards for WCPC.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and consultation in identifying, analyzing, and managing innovative and complex cost savings and clinical variation strategies.

  • Establish and elevate strategic relationships with key suppliers in assigned service lines.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the operations, cost drivers, and market dynamics of product and service categories across many different departments including Medical Surgical, Cardiology, Orthopedics, IT, HR, Finance, Facilities, and Clinical Operations.

  • Lead and develop strategy and execute plans for obtaining improved value from suppliers via competitive bids and advanced negotiation skills.

  • Present and communicate successes, opportunities, and challenges to leadership, member health systems, and key stakeholders.

  • Develop strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers across assigned product and service lines.

  • Manage a portfolio of agreements, providing coverages for all classes of trade including participation in competitive bid process and negotiation of agreements.

  • Lead member supply chain monthly meetings and provide insights to the WCPC Board and Executive Oversight Committees/

  • Execute strategies that enhance network revenue, ROI, and overall financial impact. (e.g., recruitment, implementation, onboarding, business development, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree is a plus.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in a GPO/Health Care environment, contracting, or negotiations required.

  • Strong business acumen, communication, and presentation skills and experience tailored to various professional audiences including executives and physicians required.

  • Experience in coaching and supporting others through leadership and collaborative partnership skills is preferred.

  • Experience in health care supply cost management, contracting, and coordination of multiple key relationships preferred.

  • Experience working with and interpreting various types of data including clinical, operational, and supply chain desired.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, legal contracts, and documents.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, and results-oriented environment with minimal direction.

  • Experience developing customized solutions for large complex organizations with suppliers using consultative skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
