About the Role

As our Sr. Engineer, Power BI you will work closely with Sales and Marketing stakeholders to design and create impactful Power BI dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision making. You will be involved in the entire process, from inception to delivery, ensuring that the dashboards align with business goals and provide valuable insights. Your expertise will be crucial in transforming data into actionable intelligence, supporting the Sales and Marketing teams in achieving their objectives, and contributing to the company's success.

This position is remote and will report into Lovesac Corporate HUB based in Stamford, CT. Candidates must fully reside in the United States at all times during employment and should have the ability to travel as needed.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to business needs.
• Write and optimize DAX expressions for complex calculations and data transformations.
• Develop and maintain data models in Power BI, ensuring accuracy, scalability and performance.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
• Optimize report performance by fine-tuning DAX queries, data model structures, and report visuals.
• Implement best practices for Power Query (M language) transformations and ETL processes.
• Ensure data security and governance with Power BI, including row-level security (RLS) and access management.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to enhance data availability and reporting capabilities
• Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and advancements, implementing them as necessary.
• Perform any other reasonable duties for this role as requested by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
• 7+ years of experience in designing and developing Power BI solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for custom calculations and measures.
• Strong expertise in Power Query (M language) and ETL processes.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema, fact, and dimension tables.
• Experience optimizing Power BI performance, including data model efficiency and report rendering speed.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure Synapse).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service, and workspace management.
• Hands-on experience with row-level security (RLS) and access control within Power BI.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, or Synapse Analytics preferred.
• Knowledge of Python or R for advanced data analysis.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Power BI deployments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

• Must be able to travel using various forms of transportation, as required by the Company in its sole discretion, for meetings and conferences held either at our offices or offsite (i.e. mandatory quarterly team connection weeks, companywide meetings, vendor visits).
