Job Summary
The Linux Enterprise Engineer I is an entry-level technical position responsible for providing departmental or campus-wide support to ensure optimum performance and connectivity of IT systems. This includes hardware, software, databases, storage, and network components in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments. The role involves working closely with senior engineers to learn and develop technical skills, as well as providing basic troubleshooting and support to end-users. Tools used include bash, vi, git, openssl, and basic networking tools.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete service requests, provide customer support.
  • Troubleshoot, develop solutions, resolve incidents & problems.
  • Provision, deploy, administer, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and patch systems.
  • Create and update documentation.
  • Develop technical and personal skills

Ideal candidate should possess:

  • Basic understanding of enterprise Linux operating systems, cloud fundamentals, and management of physical or virtualized hardware.

  • Management of load balancing components including SSL certificates, listeners, and targets.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
