As a Sales Application Engineer at Coperion, you will join a global leader in Systems and Ingredients Automation. This is a role that combines technical expertise with strategic sales skills to deliver customized equipment solutions for our clients in the Food, Health and Nutrition industries. If you're passionate about providing exceptional customer solutions involving pneumatic conveying, filtration, weighing and feeding, sifting, mixing, depositing, and more, this role is for you. Essential Functions:
- Review and interpret written specifications provided by clients to properly size and select equipment for the application.
- Assess due dates and customer requirements, collaborating with the engineering and production teams to propose tailored solutions that meet customer objectives.
- Prepare accurate and well-presented proposals, including supporting documentation such as technical, deviations/exceptions, flow diagrams, pricing, etc., and support activities during the quotation and selling process.
- Work with internal and external suppliers to specify and propose the necessary equipment to complete system proposals.
- Represent Coperion at industry events, trade shows, and customer sites as a trusted technical advisor.
- Assist in the training of customers, external representatives, and sales staff.
- Maintains accurate data in sales systems (CPQ/CRM).
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or related Engineering degree, or 5 years of related engineering experience.
- A deep technical and mechanical aptitude for understanding product functionality, and use.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD preferred.
- Experience with designing/specifying/quoting/selling durable capital equipment in the Food, Health and Nutrition industries.
- Reading blueprint/schematic diagrams and understanding of the manufacturing process flow.
- Strong aptitude on the interpretation of technical specifications and risk mitigation.
