Job Description:

As a Senior Staff Project Engineer on our team, you will lead the technology transfer for air surveillance and Electronic Support Measures (ESM) sensor systems solutions in support of expansion of our US product portfolio.A successful technology transfer would be transferring the design, documentation, drawings, production testing, training, and engineering know-how from international Saab AB locations to the US. The primary goal of the technology transfer is to support establishment of US-based training and sustainment for the transferred product, with ultimate US-based ownership of future product updates.

Specific Job Responsibilities include:

  • Collaboration with a multi-national and multi-functional team to ensure timely technology transfer to meet the needs of our customers.

  • Leading the execution of a Saab, Inc. cross-functional engineering team to gain an in-depth understanding of the transferred products.

  • As part of the Program Management Office, manage programs within schedule and budget, and lead risk and opportunity management

  • Mentor junior engineers

Compensation Range: $128,800 - $167,400

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math or Science. Master's degree strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience related to Surveillance Systems.

  • 15+ years working with Department of Defense (DoD) customers, specifically Army, Marine Core, and Navy customers.

  • Proven project leadership with Radar systems.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for program execution and product development strategies, leading teams in the aerospace and defense industry.

  • Previously demonstrated leadership management skills with cross functional experience

  • Strong business acumen

  • Proven customer relationship management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and influence customer, key stakeholders (internal and external to the organization)

  • Able to communicate and make presentations to senior leadership within the company and customer communities

  • Strong analysis skills and abilities

  • Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for systems engineering processes

  • Must hold, or have within the last 2 years, a U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
