Hospice of Marion County, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a music therapist to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with IDT to identify patient/family needs for music therapy and accept referrals.
  2. Provide music therapy and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
  3. Develop treatment plans addressing cognitive, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  4. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and care partners.
  5. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and educational programs.
  6. Provide bereavement support and attend memorial services as needed.
  7. Educate staff, patients, and the community about the role of music therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy or related field; 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Credentialed as a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) preferred, or eligible to sit for the exam within the first year of employment.
  • Proficient in music performance and creating a therapeutic environment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance (for field-based positions).
