DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will serve as the first point of contact for State Workers' Insurance Fund's external customers. This professional will be cross-trained in several areas of SWIF in order to efficiently respond to complex customer questions regarding work performed by SWIF Auditing Technicians, SWIF Underwriting Technicians, SWIF Claim Reviewers, SWIF Medical Bill Payers, and Fiscal Technicians. This position affords the opportunity to identify areas in customer service, workflow, or process improvements through customer interactions and work with supervisors and managers to see that they are addressed. Strong organizational skills are utilized to create and maintain detailed logs of all processed calls, in addition to completing data entry and updates surrounding changes of status reports from policyholders and their agents.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must demonstrate the ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor and Industry.
  • You must demonstrate the ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic.
  • You must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must show initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
