DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this important role, you will manage the fabrication, assembly, repair, and maintenance of assistive devices for our residents. You will select the appropriate materials and utilize both hand and power tools to carry out a variety of skilled tasks in constructing, modifying, maintaining, and repairing adaptive equipment. Your duties will involve crafting, machining, and assembling parts for specialized assistive and therapeutic devices designed to meet the individual needs of each resident. These devices may include those used to aid in activities of daily living, such as manual wheelchairs, scooters, mechanical beds and lifts, carts, walkers, contour chairs, and body and leg braces, among others.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in the fabrication, assembly, or repair of adaptive equipment.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
