DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Intelligence Analyst Trainee, you will be responsible for receiving and analyzing information of a confidential nature, placing pertinent facts in proper relationships, evaluating and vetting the information, and writing comprehensive reports based upon available data. You will utilize various investigative and intelligence databases in response to requests for information from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. This professional works directly with investigators, researching and analyzing criminal intelligence data on individuals, businesses, groups, and activities in response to requests for assistance in solving criminal investigations, developing leads, or in preparation for planned intelligence operations. Efficient organization and time management skills are vital, as you will be receiving tips relating to drug, terrorism, and criminal activity and will need to evaluate the information before forwarding to the appropriate field personnel for follow-up inquiry.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
  • This position involves rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47, 883.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 60 college credits.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a Top Secret Security Clearance issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or attainment of this clearance during the probationary period, and continual maintenance of this clearance during employment in the position. Failure to obtain and maintain FBI Top Secret Security Clearance will result in the employee's removal from the position. Removal may result in the termination of employment if other placement options are not available.
  • You must possess the ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, homeland security, intelligence studies, or related field.
  • Internship experience with a criminal justice agency.
