PacificWest is hiring a detail-oriented, dependable, and process-driven Engineering Intern - Mechanical Engineering (Construction Industry) who is currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision, structure, and ensuring things are done the right way.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers, assisting in the design, analysis, and execution of construction projects. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering applications, problem-solving, and quality control within a real-world construction environment.

The essential functions of the position include:



  • Technical Support | Assist engineers in drafting, modeling, analyzing construction designs
  • Project Documentation | Help create and maintain engineering reports, blueprints, technical specifications
  • Quality Assurance | Support in reviewing construction plans, materials, structural integrity to ensure compliance with engineering standards
  • Data Collection & Analysis | Gather and interpret data from testing, materials, site inspections
  • Process Improvement | Identify areas for efficiency and accuracy improvements within engineering workflows
  • Collaboration | Work with project managers, engineers, construction teams to support on-site and office-based engineering functions


Qualifications



  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program (or related field)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
  • Ability to follow structured processes and document work accurately
  • Interest in construction engineering and infrastructure development
  • Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit), a plus
