Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Role/Purpose:
The Test Sample Lab Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of manufacturing activities of various test sample media with appropriate certified contaminate spheres. The position requires leadership of the test sample Technicians, careful analysis of customer orders; precise, accurate and delicate assembly processes. Operation of calibrated testing equipment and electronic bench micrometers also required.
This position is responsible for performing various activities in support of the test sample lab such as analyzing costs of components, dealing with price variances, dealing with limited suppliers, and regularly working with internal customers to ultimately serve the final customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and mentoring of the test sample specialists.
  • Manufacture of various test sample media with appropriate certified contaminate spheres.
  • The position requires careful analysis of customer orders; precise, accurate and delicate assembly processes.
  • Operation of calibrated testing equipment and electronic bench micrometers also required.
  • Incoming inspection and documentation of contaminate spheres. Also requires proper cataloging, storage and precise inventory rotation of the certified contaminate spheres.
  • Maintaining accurate certified contaminate sphere records on shared excel data base, printing labels and maintaining locked sphere storage.
  • Placing replenishment orders based on signals from the Test Sample Specialist
  • Utilizes various types of machinery and equipment including personal computer, printer, telephone system, calculator, copier, various computer software programs, and general office supplies.
  • Maintain highest achievable 5S ratings throughout all areas of responsibility.
  • Always consider the company Green Initiative when planning activities, procuring supplies or disposing of materials or other assets.

What You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skills in leadership, organization, negotiation, communications, influencing others
  • Ability to perform duties using metric and American weight measurements.
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of hand, air, electrical tools, and routers.
  • Computer skills, word processing, spreadsheets, manufacturing inventory and operation systems, as well as Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection software standards:
    • Syteline ERP system
    • SAP
  • Demonstrable history of being able to manage multiple objectives with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work through others to achieve results.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. at times.
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
Or
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar position
