Overview The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of Risk Control professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality risk management services as well as conducting their own high quality field inspections and providing services. Team Lead will work closely with the Vice President of Risk Control and the Vice President of Client Experience to align team efforts with corporate risk and Risk Control program guidelines. Responsibilities Primary Duties - Manage direction of Risk Control services for a defined area, while leading a team of Risk Control Consultants. Position is 80% field work and 20% management. - Conduct Risk Control surveys at client locations to identify potential hazards and risk factors for underwriting/risk selection. - Write technically detailed reports that assess risk and clearly articulate recommendations, guiding your team in delivering consistent, high-quality outputs. - Build and support productive relationships with underwriting and service teams, brokers/agents, claims, and clients, fostering a collaborative environment within your team. - Conduct research on class of business and unique exposures, providing mentorship to team members in technical analysis. - Analyze loss trends and identify opportunities for Risk Control products and services to reduce losses, guiding your team in presenting solutions to clients. - Maintain current knowledge of regulatory environments and emerging safety issues, educating your team and clients on their implications. - Ensure prompt, relevant communication with Home Office (HO) Risk Control, promoting teamwork and information sharing within your team. - Familiarize clients with Risk Control service tools, guiding your team in recommending appropriate products and services. - Oversee workload assessments within the team, ensuring alignment with business priorities and effective delegation of tasks. - Identify when to engage the expertise of others within the organization and facilitate those collaborations. - Be comfortable presenting to large accounts, agencies, and internal departments, while mentoring team members in effective presentation techniques. - Efficient in setting client appointments and guiding team members in client engagement strategies. - Simplify complex technical information for audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge, promoting clarity in team communications. - Influence risk to act on recommendations, fostering a culture of collaboration and buy-in. - Clearly express ideas, recommendations, and technical reports in writing. Ensure your team maintains exacting and professional standards of communication. - Utilize behavioral interviewing techniques to guide team interactions and client discussions. - Build credibility with internal and external customers, developing your team's capabilities in relationship management.
