Position Summary Information

The Student and Program Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct support and specialized services to Counseling and School Psychology programs to ensure that students (1) complete their programs in a timely manner, (2) receive support in meeting their personal and professional goals/aspirations, and (3) feel cared for and supported during their educational journey. |
Essential Functions |
Student & Faculty Support
- Answer phone and email inquiries, route calls, and greet students and visitors.
- Assist students with registration, program requirements, graduation, and credentialing processes.
- Support faculty with administrative tasks related to student programs and dissertation processes.
Student Records & Credentialing
- Maintain student e-files and databases for various programs (MA, EdS, LPCC, MFT, EdD, PsyD).
- Track program requirements, exams, credentials, and other academic records.
- Process credential recommendations and ensure compliance with CCTC requirements.
Admissions & Enrollment Support
- Assist with application processing, advisor assignments, and enrollment tracking.
- Communicate with prospective and accepted students to ensure retention.
- Provide guidance on registration, financial aid, and academic resources.
Program Administration & Event Coordination
- Support program faculty with oral exams, dissertation processes, and student records.
- Assist with assigned Benerd committees.
- Assist with graduation processes and commencement planning.
Office & Departmental Support
- Maintain office organization, order supplies, etc.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and credentialing regulations.
- Participate in training, professional development, and university initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications |
- One and a half years (1.5) of post-high school education with a minimum of eighteen (18) units of completed coursework.
- Two (2) years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Demonstrated customer service skills, in providing warmth, empathy, and responsiveness.
- Demonstrated experience working to improve processes to help serve students and faculty more effectively.
- Technical skills to manage electronic records, learn various university systems, and engage in extensive use of MS Office.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience in teacher credentialing in California.
- Experience with Banner, Argos, OnBase, Salesforce, and other university systems.
- Experience with Pacific's systems, processes, and policies.
- Experience in higher education student recruitment.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range |
$18.99 - $23.74 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
