Pharmacist- Hospital

Position Summary:

The pharmacist will insure the accurate and timely dispensing and safe and appropriate use of medications. This includes receiving and interpreting physician's orders to be dispensed, compounded and/or admixed for inpatients or outpatients. For outpatients, this will include patient counseling on proper medication use and potential side effects.

The pharmacist will work in several capacities, including but not limited to inpatient/central pharmacy and discharge/outpatient services. Pharmacist will be expected to be competent in all the aforementioned areas and work collaboratively to provide care for our patients.

Work Schedule:

Days/evening, weekends

24 hrs weekly / .6 FTE

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or PharmD degree in pharmacy
• Current licensure in Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Institutional experience (hospital or home care/outpatient IV) is preferred.
• Pharmacist registered in Minnesota who is familiar with pharmacy regulations and standards, medication delivery systems, information systems, automation, institutional practice and third party pay programs.
• This highly organized individual should possess the ability to work effectively with others to efficiently deliver care for patients.
• Leadership, written/verbal skills, and customer service skills are essential.
• Intermediate level computer/keyboarding skills required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety to patients.
• This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, including, but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, discrimination and harassment laws, patient confidentiality, PNHS compliance programs, HCFA, CMS, TJC, FDA, DEA, Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, EPA and the Minnesota Department of Health.
