Description
Working primarily from the North and West Gate Houses, controls access to CMA property per written guidelines and operates as EHS support personnel within the EHS Department. Secure gates when leaving guard house location for rounds and inspections. The EHS Technician is employed to be an extension of the EHS group to perform various environmental and safety inspections/tasks to aid the plant in sustaining a world class EHS culture. The EHS Technician is also solely responsible for all entry and exit to the plant site as a nonuniformed, unarmed fire watchman, gatekeeper, and security officer with no delegated or assigned arrest authority. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job tasks are usually performed in a manufacturing environment. Position requires the ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities. Position frequently requires the ability to make quick decisions related to safety and security issues. Ability to utilize interpersonal and teamwork skills, perform basic mathematical computations, follow directions and to understand and apply work specifications in the completion of work tasks. The ability to hear, speak, use hands/fingers and the repetitive motions of hands/wrists are occasional. Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds. Vision abilities require the adjustment and focus of sight. Ability to be physically mobile and to climb stairs is required.
