JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator (SME)

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Infrastructure Services & Back Office Support (ISBOS)

LOCATION: Fully Remote; Employee will be required to travel to Clarksburg, WV upon hire for a 2-day initial orientation

POSITION TIMING: Contingent on award; expected contract start date June 2025

ITC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our team supporting The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division. As part of the CJIS Division, you will be instrumental in equipping law enforcement, national security, and intelligence community partners with the critical criminal justice information necessary to protect the United States while ensuring the preservation of civil liberties.

This role will be responsible for diagnosing complex system issues, optimizing system performance, implementing robust security measures, and contributing to the design and scaling of system architectures. The Systems Administrator will work closely with other technical teams to ensure the FBI's infrastructure remains secure, efficient, and scalable to meet future demands.



Responsibilities

    Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, utilizing in-depth analysis and creative problem-solving to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • System Architecture Design: Contribute to the design and implementation of new system architectures, including server configurations, network topology, and data storage solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement strategies to optimize system efficiency and uptime.
  • Security Management: Implement robust security measures, including managing user access controls and ensuring systems are up-to-date with emerging cybersecurity threats.
  • Capacity Planning & Forecasting: Forecast future system needs and plan for hardware upgrades or infrastructure scaling to accommodate organizational growth and increased demand.
  • Technical Guidance & Training: Provide technical guidance and training to other system administrators, ensuring adherence to best practices and keeping the team informed about new technologies.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with a minimum of five years of experience with enterprise network administration tools and systems management.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive understanding of operating systems, hardware, network protocols, security measures, and cloud technologies relevant to the organization's infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux operating systems, including system configuration, shell scripting, and package management.
  • Advanced expertise in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and related technologies.
  • Deep understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including cloud security, resource management, and best practices.
  • Expertise in network infrastructure, including routing protocols, firewalls, and network security best practices.
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Methodology Experience: Experience working in an Agile organization utilizing frameworks such as Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe.

DESIRED:

  • FBI Program Experience: Prior exposure to FBI IT/Infrastructure programs and operations is highly desirable, as it will allow for a faster integration into the CJIS Division's mission and objectives.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, System Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred
