The Opportunity

The Photoshop team is looking for a senior ML Engineer with a passion for technology and building creative imaging and photography experiences that delight customers. This individual will work with a very dynamic, customer-focused GenAI and Imaging Applied Research team, and will be responsible for productizing research models to work on mobile environment. The successful candidate will enable the "Adobe Magic" on these platforms to provide a satisfactory customer experience for our Photoshop flag ship ecosystem.

What you'll Do
  • Collaborate with researchers, software engineers, UI designers, product managers, quality engineers and customers to enable advanced AI/ML and GenAI technologies as library components running on-device, or as deployable model pipelines hosted on servers. These technologies will power Digital Imaging applications such as Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Model Conversion
  • Convert models from frameworks like PyTorch into formats such as ONNX. This ensures compatibility and optimized performance across various platforms.
  • Model Optimization:
  • Employ cutting-edge techniques, such as quantization, sparsity-induction, pruning, etc, to compress and accelerate large models for optimal performance on resource-constrained devices.
  • Analyze and optimize models for efficient execution on GPU/NPU.
  • Diagnose performance bottlenecks and collaborate with hardware architecture teams to co-design solutions for improved latency, power consumption, and memory footprint.
  • Model Deployment:
  • Collaborate with application developers to integrate optimized models into applications, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Evaluate the impact of optimization techniques on model quality by working with modeling and adaptation teams across different product use cases.
  • Serve as a customer advocate and quality champion
  • Bring energy, flexibility, focus and excellence to all projects and assignments
  • Take initiative, tackle new challenges and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to get the job done
What you need to succeed
  • MS or PhD in Machine Learning Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ML engineering with a proven track record of designing, implementing, and delivering high-quality software with AI models.
  • Proven programming skills with standard machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch. Experience with CoreML and ONNXRuntime is a plus.
  • Proficient in modern programming languages C++ and Python, with extensive experience in large-scale application development.
  • Familiarity with the TensorFlow model optimization toolkit is a plus.
  • Familiarity with computer vision is a plus.
  • Working knowledge and experience developing for multiple platforms including iOS, desktop, and web (WASM) is a plus.
  • Dedication to excellent coding practices.
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Passion for creating high-quality applications that users love.

The U.S. pay range for this positionis $162,000 -- $301,200 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
