Community Aide:

The Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) was established in 1974 to better respond to the County's need for affordable housing. HOC is authorized to acquire, own, lease, and operate housing; to provide for the construction or renovation of housing; obtain financial assistance from any public or private source to assist its housing activities; and arrange for social services, resident services, and daycare.

Job Description:

The position is responsible for assisting Resident Services Staff with planning and facilitating program activities. The employee will be responsible for assisting with program support to include recruiting HOC participants for programs, transporting HOC participants to and from programs, providing coverage at the HOC host sites providing the Montgomery County Senior Nutrition Lunch Program, and other duties as assigned..

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year experience working with the disabled or at-risk populations.
  • Must have a clean driving record and be able to drive a 15-passenger van.

Education:

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent experience, or two years of college or technical training.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment.
  • Must possess thorough proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Must have good customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with people of varied backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work at least four evenings and one weekend day per month.
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

* Grade 11 - Min: $43,127 / Mid: $54,967 / Max: $66,808 | Salary determined by departmental budget - Offer commensurate with experience.
